Conference Announcement

UPDATE 27th February
We have, so far, enrolled 132 people from 24 countries. We still have space for a few more. If you require an enrolment form, please contact us at actionforswifts@gmail.com
Take a look at the Pages below right for detailed information about the conference.

You are invited to attend the Cambridge International Swift Conference which will be modelled on the highly successful Commonswift Seminars organised by Ulrich Tigges in Berlin in 2010 and 2012.

Cambridge is an attractive historical city, accessible from all major airports and east coast ports. It has a wide range of accommodation available and a proliferation of bars and restaurants. Parkside Community College is near the centre of the city

Although the emphasis will be on the Common Swift Apus apus, we are also keen to receive offers of presentations on any aspect of other species of swift.

Subjects covered may include results from geolocator and other migration studies, breeding biology, population monitoring, rehabilitation, nest-boxing and attraction techniques, case studies of successful projects, and swifts in the arts.

We are at the early stages of planning, so it would be helpful if you could let us know whether you intend to come, and whether you would like to give a presentation.

The conference fee should be no more than £50.

Please contact: Edward Mayer or Dick Newell

If you would like to give a presentation, please submit a title and summary to Lyndon Kearsley, program coordinator

There will be display boards available for poster presentations.

May we draw your attention to the Pages on the right hand side with more information. This website is a work in progress, so come back here to see details of the program as it evolves.
